QuickConverter is the result of my attempts to use applications like Excel and FoxPro to analyze transactions from Quicken registers. For example, if Excel or other spreadsheet programs could read Quicken files, one could sort and total transactions by the ヤDescriptionユ or ヤMemoユ fields as well as by category, or perform max./min./avg. analyses on transactions.
While Quicken allows one to export a collection of transactions to a ヤTEXTユ file, the format of the data in that file is not useful in other programs. QuickConverter creates a new ヤTEXTユ file containing the same transactions as the original exported file, but in a tab-delimited format that can be read by most other applications.
To use QuickConverter, open a Quicken register and choose ヤExport Transactionsユ from the 'File' menu to create a ヤTEXTユ file. Drop that file onto the QuickConverter icon to create a new converted file. Then open that file from your favourite spreadsheet or database application.

Revision History
2.0 ミ another full rewrite. Is now substantially faster, checks the format of the input file, and recognizes cheque numbers, reconciliation checkmarks, and details of transactions from portfolio registers. This means that you may have some empty columns in a converted file if the register didn't contain cheque numbers or portfolio data. ;-) Took the Excel screen shots out of this Read Me, too. You didn't really want to download them again, did you?
1.5 - rewrite based on Leonard Rosenthol's DropShell. Now supports a drag-and-drop interface, suspend and resume events, and batch processing. Also added a progress indicator and fixed a bug in overwriting existing files.
1.0 - original, modal-dialog version.
